Preparations

This weekend I was setting the table and realized that the Halloween table runner no longer fit the job description. Candy corn is great (even now!), but not when turkeys are on the mind. With my new crafty supplies I hit the ground running and made up my own little table runner loosely based on this cool craft. I had some wool felt left over from the Advent Calendar That Might Never Get Finished...at least this year and pulled it out. This is the reason I love keeping a stash. Inspiration on a whim never gets put out when you have everything on hand and don't have to run to the store for say, double sided fusible webbing. I'm so pleased with the way this simple Thanksgiving table runner turned out. Of course now I have visions for a more elaborate one next year with things like ric rac and trees, but right now my table is a prefect reminder of the season and I'm pleased with what my inspired thoughts created. Now for the obligatory first snow photo. There really was a blanket of whiteness on the ground when I woke up yesterday and the kids were quite giddy in school. Ah, to commute in the snow again. I didn't miss it much, but the world seems like a much more magical place when there is a blanket of white surrounding it!
Have a wonderful day.

The table runner is perfect...simple yet festive. And snow?! Yes, it is magical. I saw my first snow flurries yesterday in years and was totally giddy. Enjoy this glorious day!

P.S., And I tried your beer bread again with caraway & sunflower seeds. Even better this second time as I used the correct baking powder. Not a big baker here, as you can tell, to have known the difference. Thanks again for the recipe.

We had flurries yesterday which made everyone excited for the first snow day from school. It only takes about 2 inches to shut it all down...
