at camp

quaker lake
I spent the weekend camping where, at every turn, this scene surrounded me.  I spent most of the time with the camera around my neck hiking, biking, and rock climbing.  No cell phones, no internet, no technology period.  I keep thinking I should do a 'no tech' weekend more often.  I felt so refreshed and calm.  Of course, watching the leaves change colors before my eyes really helped as well.

Now I'm back home with laundry, pictures to edit, and work to do.  I'm going to hang onto this feeling of freedom that autumn in the woods brings just a little bit longer.

I have really been enjoying your blog the past few months. This photo is stunning. As a transplant from NC to CA I can forget how stunning actual fall can be. Thanks.

WOW is just the word. I find fall in North America so much more intense than in the UK.

Gorgeous colour! It reminds me of the mountains of NC - which I miss a lot - especially in the fall...

yowsers.
it's so hard to actually capture the beauty of an expanse of fall color - and you did it.

I absolutely love shots where the water reflects the land so beautifully. Looks like you found a lot of beauty and serenity. Welcome back home.

Hello I've just popped over from Tabiboo to see you and am loving what I see. That's an amazing photo and who could fail to feel refreshed and relaxed after a no tech weekend in stunning countryside like that.

Hi - I just found your site after reading your post on Rhythm of the Home. I always love to check in on fellow Upstate NY'ers. I think I was camping near that same lake just two weeks ago. And not to be creepy - but I may have been at that same fiberfest :)

It is nice to stumble into you on the web. Have a super great day!
