Hi there.
Snowy January is almost over. Isn't that a good feeling? Around this time of year I feel like winter will never quite end. I do love seasons and all that comes with them here in NY but after two cold and very snowy months I suddenly become drawn to the hope that spring will come sooner rather than later. It will, friends. Just a few
::So here is how January has run it's course::
- It has been warm--in the 60's with snow melting
- Only to snow again
- We went to Florida to celebrate a wedding
- And enjoy some sun and warm weather
- But right before that I was sick, sick, sick
- For a day I did not think I would make it
- (to the wedding, that is!)
- But seriously, it was not fun
- (I couldn't even look at magazines on the couch)
- The wedding was lovely and the beach was amazing
- I held my spot next to the pool with a bag of yarn and a good book (recovering)
- Then we headed off to Miami
- Where it is always lovely
- And very, very rainy
- And I ate fish tacos for the first time (yum!)
- Finally we returned home
- To snow
- To manage I've been reading this and watching this
- And thinking about decorating, re-decorating, and pillow making
Life is full- even in cold, snowy January.
Be well!

Hi there, Jess! I was wondering what had happened to you.Sorry to hear you weren't well. 'Tis that time of year!
And hooray for hibernating. Spring will come in it's own time. Now is snuggledown, enjoy it with no shopping to worry about time. ( aka post-Xmas! Why do people think winter ends at the New year?)
Sorry you were so sick. Most of December we took turns being sick as well. I bet Florida was gorgeous and it sounds like it was just the break you needed to face the rest of winter.
So good to see your face again. I'm glad you are on the mend.
What are you working on? Can't wait to see all the knitting projects.
I know how you feel about our NY winters. I love the snow (of which we haven't had much this year...sadly)and the "hunkering down" that goes with winter, but it lasts just a tad too long! I'm glad you are on the mend... I've missed you!
You look LOVELY! Glad you are feeling better and got to escape some of the snow for a bit!
60's and melting???? we've had many, many days of below zero and crazy wind . . .
and florida - sounds like a lovely place to recuperate!
did you make the cookies? what did you think? :)
Such lovely pictures. Snowy January ended in a February blizzard for us mid-westerners. I'm ready for spring! I'm new to your blog, just stumbled across it today. It was a pleasure *meeting* you!
