summer was good (and an invitation)

The last time I gathered here summer had just begun.  From the few pictures I took this summer, the theme appears to be water.  We spent time driving along water, eating next to the water, floating over the water, and jumping into the water.  I could hardly find a photograph without water in it one way or another.  I do love living near water (and I do feel the same exact way about it exactly one year later).  The truth is, when I wasn't on the water I didn't quite take that many pictures.  Looking back, I have only these few pictures to reflect on the past summer.

What I can say is this, I spent my time living deeply and truly in summer as opposed to photographing, editing, and writing about it. That felt wonderful. There were many times I thought out about writing, but ultimately I wanted to keep those thoughts and memories right where they belonged amongst those who experienced the day.

Now autumn is coming fast and furiously, the leaves are changing ever-so-slightly, I am itching to pull out my wool yarn and start stitching, and I ordered a new down comforter to keep warm.  With the arrival of autumn, I started to feel the urging to be here, in this space again.  Perhaps not as regularly as ever before, but here.  Sharing pictures and sometimes thoughts.  I hope you will join for the ride.
